Ramesh Babu Story - Bio, facts, Net Worth, Family and Career
Many of you have probably heard of the remarkable rise to success of G. Ramesh Babu, the self-styled "billionaire barber," who founded his company in 1994. He owns more than 400 vehicles, including a Maybach S600, BMW, Audi, and Rolls Royce, and he has more than 75 premium vehicles in his fleet. The inspirational tale of a "Billionaire Barber," who possesses over 400 vehicles, including a Rolls Royce and a Maybach S600, is being shared with you.
About his successful life:
Bengaluru's "Billionaire Barber," Ramesh Babu, was raised in poverty. In Bengaluru, his father worked as a barber. When he received a call informing him that his father had died and that he might have suffered a catastrophic heart attack, he was in the second grade and taking his midterm examinations.
On Bengaluru's Bridged Road, his father operated a shabby little barbershop or saloon. At the age of seven, P. Gopal, his father, passed away. For his mother, who had to work as a servant in order to help feed and provide a good life for her children, it was a difficult day. She made about ₹40–50 a month, which she used for all of our expenses—clothes, books, fees, and everything else.
He only had one meal a day as a child. He has a sister and a brother. His mother rented out the barber shop for ₹5 a day because she was unable to run it herself. Ramesh Babu started taking on several odd jobs in order to supplement his income. At the age of 13, he began delivering newspapers on the side, filling milk bottles, and doing whatever else was handy to help his family.
He supported his family while pursuing his education. Somehow, he finished his tenth standard study. He has a son and 2 daughters. Ramesh was unable to determine whether to continue his education or get employment. Even though his father's barbershop was still being rented out, Ramesh Babu made the decision to take over the business in 1989 in order to provide for his family. After assuming ownership of the saloon from his uncle, which he named "Inner Space," he began working there driven only by his desire to be successful.
Motivated by his mother, Ramesh Babu enrolled in an electronics diploma programme and successfully completed it. He opened the saloon early in the morning at six o'clock after rising early. Then, at ten o'clock, Ramesh left for college and returned in the evenings, staying open until one in the morning, from twelve to one. He increased his working hours to over sixteen hours every day. He runs the hair salon, cutting and styling hair, much like a regular barber.
Military personnel, prominent politicians, law enforcement officials, and Bollywood celebrities such as Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, and Anil Kapoor are among his clientele. He has always considered his work to be worship.
He intended to purchase a car because he wanted to take action. He was also obsessed about expensive vehicles and has always wanted to possess one. With his uncle's assistance, he purchased a Maruti Van (Omni) car in 1993 with his meager savings and hard-earned cash. He refers to his uncle as his "Baba." His grandfather had to mortgage the family house in order to be eligible for a loan for a car. He assumed he would keep the car for his initial personal use, so he applied for a car loan from the only bank that offered them at the time—the Karnataka State Finance Corporation.
The EMI was approximately ₹ 6,800, and he was aware that he might make ten thousand or twenty thousand a month working as a barber. It wasn't enough to cover the EMI. He was asked why he did not rent out his Maruti van rather than leaving it lying around by Nandini Akka, a woman who works at Intel Corporation and whose mother used to live in her home. She suggested that he lease Intel the Omni. Because Nandini made the arrangements, the first firm he rented a car from was Intel Corporation. She gave him the opportunity to brag and invited him to her daughter's wedding as well! She gave him the fundamentals of running this kind of business.
Ramesh Babu began leasing properties. That's how he got started in the vehicle rental industry. By 2004, he had added six more vehicles to the fleet, all of which were used for the same purposes. Customers from the travel and tourism sector began to use the car rental service as he progressively built up a sizable customer base. Ramesh Babu concentrated on raising the saloon.
With the assistance of the Karnataka State Finance Corporation, Ramesh Babu purchased seven additional cars between 1994 and 2004 for his car rental company, which is currently known as Ramesh Tours and Travels.
Taking Chances:
In the middle of the 2000s, Mercedes India made Ramesh Babu an offer to purchase a model. This suggestion presented an opportunity to him. He pooled all of his savings and obtained a bank loan from Karnataka State Finance Corporation to cover the remaining balance. Ramesh considered entering the luxury automobile market in 2004 and spent 38 lakhs for a Mercedes E-Class sedan. He was informed by all that it was a grave error. For Rs 4.2 million, he purchased a Mercedes Benz. Forty lakhs for an automobile were a significant risk in 2004.
It was his saloon's earnings.
Ramesh Babu completed a training with Toni & Guy while in Singapore to learn hair cutting and styling techniques. Ramesh started doing his own hair styling. To refine his apparently innate skill, he started taking hairstyling classes. Ramesh Babu made the first investment in a brand-new Mercedes Benz, and it was a huge success in Bengaluru. He held the opinion that taking business risks is a necessary for everybody who wants to do business.
In 2011 saw Ramesh Babu purchase a Rolls Royce, another high-end vehicle. He was cautioned by well-wishers about the extent of failures while purchasing a fancy vehicle such as a Rolls Royce.
The Rolls-Royce was an expensive car. Ramesh Babu nearly went bankrupt after mortgaging his wife’s jewellery. Many advised him to sell all of his pricey, luxurious cars, but Ramesh persisted, and after 1.5 years, he was able to achieve success once more.
Currently, Ramesh Babu’s fleet includes over 400 minibuses, vans and vintage cars such as Mercedes C-, E- and S-Class, Contessa, the popular Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and the purchased BMW 5, 6 and 7. abroad. It has a fleet of imported Mercedes vehicles and Toyota minibuses. Ramesh Babu also owns a high-end Suzuki Intruder motorcycle worth ₹16 lakh.
He was only the third person in Bangalore to buy a Mercedes-Maybach S600, which was currently parked in his factory garage. He doesn’t rent his Maruti Van (Omni) but still owns it.
The title of “Billionaire Hairdresser” is well-deserved
Although Ramesh Babu has received a lot of recognition and appreciation for his efforts, he still charges his barber ₹150 for a haircut on weekends. He cuts his male customers’ hair for just £65. Ramesh also passes on his hairdressing knowledge to his daughters and son. Apart from family vacations, Ramesh Babu never takes any time off.
